The Mooring Tray is the first product born solely from the environment of Astoria, Oregon.
Since relocating to the area, I can't help but be influenced by the timeless infrastructure that surrounds me. Things here aren't trying to be clever or decorative. They simply exist because they have a job to do, and through years of use somehow acquire a certain character of their own.
The Mooring Tray grew out of that line of thinking.
Inspired in part by the anti-fouling red and black found on the countless tanker ships anchored throughout the Columbia River, each tray begins as a piece of steel and is forged, textured, and formed by hand. The red finish is intentionally worn and weathered, allowing the blackened steel beneath to show through much like the hull of a working ship.
Nothing complicated. Just a place to drop your keys, pocket knife, watch, loose hardware, tools, or whatever else tends to accumulate on a desk, workbench, or entry table.
Available in either Storm-Worn Red or Waxed Blackened Steel. Purchase includes domestic shipping.
Each tray is individually forged and finished, so slight variations in texture and appearance are to be expected.
